Nassau County Comptroller George Maragos hosted, “Women Breaking Ground,” a Women’s History Month event yesterday evening.

The event honored forty-three outstanding women from throughout Nassau County for their professional achievements and service to the community. The evening was enhanced by an art exhibition and a live music.

The impressive gathering of accomplished artists, businesswomen, religious and community leaders, educators, environmentalists, philanthropists, and health care professionals hail from communities throughout the County.

“This year’s gathering of honorees represent some of the most accomplished women from virtually every facet of professional and communal life,” noted Comptroller George Maragos. “What makes each honoree so unique is how they employ their specific talents for the betterment of community.  I am honored to recognize their amazing contributions.”
