Amitabh Bachchan will next feature in Ram Gopal Varma’s Sarkar 3. He will be reprising his role as Subhash Nagre in the film. He will also be seen in Thugs Of Hindostan along with Aamir Khan.
After the Box Ofﬁce success of ‘Pink’, cinema lovers were all set to welcome on-screen Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan with Ram Gopal Varma’s upcoming ﬁlm ‘Sarkar 3’.
But, it seems like they have to wait a bit longer now. Hindi movie critic and business analyst taran Adarsh on Tuesday took to Twitter to inform that the release of the movie has now been postponed. He further stated that the flick will now be hitting the silver screens on May 12 this year.
Earlier it was slated to release on April 7, 2017.
The film marks the third instalment of ‘Sarkar’ film series. It also stars Ronit Roy, Jackie Shroff, Manoj Bajpayee, Amit Sadh and Yami Gautam in prominent roles.
The whole country is eagerly awaiting the next Big B film. His popularity is still intact and even growing.
The Superstar now has 26 million followers on microblogging site Twitter and the 74-year-old actor is elated. Amitabh Bachchan, who joined Twitter in 2010, shared the news with his fans along with two pictures of himself. He tweeted: “And it has arrived … the magical figure of 26 million followers!!Thank you Twitter for my intolerance.” Not only Twitter, Big B is also quite active on other social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram.
Amitabh Bachchan is ahead of other superstars like Shah Rukh Khan(24.2 million), Salman Khan (22.1 million) and Aamir Khan (20.4 million) in terms of followers on Twitter. Amitabh Bachchan has been a part of the film industry for almost five decades and has appeared in over 190 films. He was dubbed as India’s first ‘angry young man’ for his on-screen roles. He is also often referred to as ‘Shahenshah of Bollywood’.
Amitabh Bachchan hosted several seasons of the popular television game show Kaun Banega Crorepati.
Amitabh Bachchan has been honoured with the Padma Shri in 1984, Padma Bhushan in 2001 and Padma Vibhushan in 2015 for his contributions to arts. In 2007, Government of France honoured him with its highest civilian honour, Knight of the Legion of Honour, for his exceptional career in the world of cinema and beyond.
Bachchan also made his Hollywood debut in 2013 with The Great Gatsby.
Amitabh Bachchan was last seen in 2016 movie Pink co-starring Taapsee Pannu, Kirti Kulhari, Angad Bedi, Andrea Tariang, Piyush Mishra and Dhritiman Chatterjee. The film, directed by Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury, was specially screened at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
The actor is so popular among the young that most Indians see their travel buddy in the megastar. Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra are other choices, claims a recent survey. However, actors like Bipasha Basu and Vidya Balan found a spot in the list of least popular celebrity travel companions.
In a survey, conducted by online accommodation booking website Hotels.com, Indian travellers voted for their most desired celebrity travel buddies. As many as 8,400 adults from 28 countries took part in the poll, commissioned in October 2016.
Over 300 Indian users shared their views on their dream celebrity companions. The results of the survey were released on Thursday, read a statement from the website.
For the Indian market, the survey dates were from October 21 to 31 last year. As many as 53% of the users wanted to go on a vacation with Deepika, and 40.3% picked Priyanka. Sunny Leone and Jacqueline Fernandez came in at third and fourth place respectively followed by Alia Bhatt.
While young Bollywood actresses dominated the female celebrity roster, Amitabh topped the male celebrity list by garnering 33.3% of all Indian votes. Cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar came in second with 31.7% votes. Ranbir Kapoor and Virat Kohli’s popularity saw them being voted the third and fourth most desired male celebrity travel buddies respectively.
As many as 44% voters don’t want to travel with Rakhi Sawant. Bipasha and Vidya Balan got the thumbs down as 28.7% and 26% of the participants respectively chose not to travel with them. The results also showed that 43.3% of the users want to dance the night away at a nightclub with their dream celebrity travel partners.
While a big part of India may be wanting to travel with the star, he is busy making film and taking part in films-related events. The Bollywood superstar inaugurated the new office of Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) on Tuesday, along with a host of other celebrities including Anupam Kher, Ramesh Sippy among several others.

Present at the inaugural ceremony were celebrities like Raveena Tandon, Mukesh Bhatt, filmmaker Abbas-Mustan, Sonu Sood, Vipul Shah, producer Sidharth Roy Kapoor, Boney Kapoor among others.
“The censor board has been very supportive to me and my upcoming film Maatr. I was a chairman of CFSI (Children Film Society India) and my office was here too,” Raveena told reporters.
Sippy quipped though the board has moved to a new office, filmmakers will continue with their complaints as and when they have any. “I am happy that the board is now also going digital, ushering new changes. We all need that and it is a step in the right direction,” Sippy said.
Veteran actor Anupam Kher said meeting megastar Amitabh Bachchan is always a delightful for experience for him.
Anupam met Amitabh on Monday at the opening of the new office of Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). “It was nice to be at the opening of new office of CBFC. And meeting Amitabh Bachchan is always a delightful experience,” Anupam tweeted.
Big B and Anupam have together worked in films like ‘Paheli’, ‘God Tussi Great Ho’, ‘Sooryavansham’ and ‘Mohabbatein’.
On the acting front, Anupam is gearing up for the release of the film ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’. Amitabh will be seen in the third instalment of the ‘Sarkar’ franchise, directed by Ram Gopal Varma.
